Appealing Home Design – NextGen04 Home

iShow.com has selected a home design by Carmichael & Dame for the construction of the NextGen 2004 home. The home will be toured by tens of thousands of homebuilders attending the International Builders Show slated for January 2004 in Las Vegas.

Located in the parking lot of the Las Vegas Convention Center, the 2,300 sq. ft. home embodies today’s most-wanted amenities including flexible spaces, open vistas, stunning architectural detailing and integrated outdoor living spaces.

For the NextGen04 home, we were looking for a home design which appeals to multiple buyer profiles, said Gale Steves, Director of Interior Design for the NextGen home.

This design is equally at home with families or couples with no children. It can easily accommodate professionals working from home.

And in addition to the southwestern elevation, the Craftsman and Traditional facades available mean this home design fits in just about anywhere in the country.

The design also meets the performance requirements for the home, said Linda Reimer, President of Design Basics, which represents Carmichael & Dame. With only four days to construct the home on-site, the design needed to be suitable for All American Homes' advanced modular construction process.

Window sizes and locations increased the amount of natural light entering the home while also enhancing natural cross ventilation which lessens demand on air conditioning. And the design is accommodating to individuals in wheelchairs.

The NextGen04 Home is built in accordance with national programs designed to produce high performance homes. Exceeding the EPA's Energy Star® guidelines, energy usage will be reduced by at least 30% from the model energy code.

In addition to energy conservation, the Freedom Designed For Better Living program guidelines for stronger/safer, healthier, environmentally responsible and affordable construction have also been incorporated.

Technological advancements featured in the home open up a world of educational, entertainment and lifestyle opportunities.
