Garden-style Condominium Homes- Down Sizing

Many consumers have raised their families and now realize that they want to travel more and spend less time maintaining their homes. They also do not need as much room with the kids living on their own and there is an opportunity to reduce some of the monthly bills as well for heat and taxes etc. Garden-style condominium homes may be the answer many consumers are looking for when they reach the decision to sell their homes and move to a smaller house. Condominium homes present a unique opportunity for home owners, especially the garden style variety of condos. Condos still have a small backyard, a driveway and even sometimes a garage to park your car in.

All of the common elements or the exterior walls and grounds including the driveways are looked after by the condominium in a garden-style condominium home. The condo will hire contractors to cut the lawns, plant the shrubs and generally maintain the property. If you happen to live in a cold climate and your driveway needs the snow cleared so you can get out, this will be done as well. Condo owners will pay a monthly condo fee to cover all of these expenses and condo owners will elect a board of directors to oversee all of these activities. The condo owner is responsible for all interior items regarding maintenance and repairs that may be necessary.

With this type of arrangement, condo owners can lock their condominium garden home and go away for a month or two, knowing that their property will be looked after and they do not have to worry about the grounds being looked after. Someone should still look in once and awhile to check on the interior, especially if there is a risk of the pipes freezing if the heating system should fail inside your condo.
