July 24, 2005 By: Sunny Thaver Rural Housing Designs – And A Different Life StyleOften consumers living in homes in the city dream of having a house in a rural setting were they can wake up in the morning to the birds singing and not the noise of the city. Rural living has many benefits, however there are a few things that many homeowners need to consider for a rural house design before building the house. Rural housing designs for example must account for the services such as water, sewer, hydro, telephone, cable TV and fuel for the furnace are usually standard hook ups in houses in the city. All these services must be accounted for on a rural lot and often special arrangements made to deliver them to the home. For example, sewer and water lines may be non-existent near your rural home. As part of the rural housing design, consumers must arrange for a well to be drilled to provide clean water and a septic tank system installed to deal with waste from the normal daily activities of living. Planners will require that the septic tank for the house and distribution beds are not close to your well for obvious reasons. Hydro and telephones for hoes are usually close by since most rural roads have already had others use them for their houses. Another part of rural living is the absence of cable TV for their homes. Most rural owners now have the option of purchasing a satellite dish for service to their homes to replace cable TV. Home owners should realize that these design issues for country living are not obstacles, they are just a different way of dealing with the many services that we take for granted.
