Television Home Show – Architecure And Landscape Features Garden

GREAT AMERICAN GARDENS

This series tours America's loveliest public gardens, focusing on the landscape and architectural highlights of each garden. From gardens coast to coast, viewers will tour the gardens, learn about their often-amazing history, and learn how these gardens evolved into these incredible public spaces. Interviews with gardeners, botanists and historians help reveal the story the garden has to tell. Each show features three gardens from across the country, among them the ruins at Afton Villa in St. Francisville, La. We watch time unfold as we view the 100-ton floral clock at Kentucky's State Capitol in Frankfort. We smell the perfumed air of the three-acre rose garden at the Huntington Botanical Gardens in Pasadena, Calif. And we step back in time as we stroll inside the charming Victorian era Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul, Minn.

GREAT STUFF

This is a show for people who love to collect, or are fascinated by those who do. Each episode will introduce viewers to three individuals who hanker to collect all kinds of things, such as a Tennessee man who has collected over 1200 Donald Duck artifacts, or the Texas woman who has turned her house into a shrine to showcase the hundreds and hundreds of Dallas Cowboy items she has collected. Be it snow globes, lunch boxes or vintage toasters, these will be real "wow" collections. Some of the collections are valuable and some are not, but bet your bottom dollar, they're priceless to the people collecting them.

MISSION: ORGANIZATION

A show where the "Mission" is possible. Mission: Organization has a sense of urgency, excitement and always a happy ending! The goal is to organize a home that is in dire need of attention. Mission: Organization introduces us to people who live in more chaos than they need to. One person is a "neatnik" but the other is, well, not. The couple (husband/wife, mother/daughter, roommates, etc.) expresses their frustration with the situation and share their concerns. The biggest one is that the problem is permanent--but it is not. There is a solution! An expert will work with the couple to redesign their living space in a way that is both functional and good looking. We go through the entire process with them from the "before" to the "after." We watch the planning, construction and resolution. Mission: Organization is not your everyday design show. It is practical, yet fun. The Odd Couple comes to life on HGTV only this time, Oscar's getting organized. Mission: Organization (w.t.) is fast and funny and is useful to anyone.

BUILDING CHARACTER

Building Character is a magazine-style show that will take viewers to sites across the country, which are being transformed from old or forgotten non-residential structures into new and exciting homes. Each story will feature the history of the building, its life in the community, its abandonment and then it will capture the human drama at the heart of each transformation; the personal challenges of taking a one-of-a-kind structure and turning it into a home.

DESIGN ON A DIME
