Award Winning House – Another Brick In The Wall For Independent Housebuilders

Peter Ward Homes, one of the regions independent housebuilders, have won another prestigious award. On this occasion their Site Manager at Leven, Mike McNamara, has won an award from the National House Building Council.

The award, presented at Old Trafford in Manchester, is called a Pride in the Job Award. Peter Ward the company's Managing Director explained, "Winning a Pride in the Job award has long been regarded by the housebuilding industry as a prestigious accolade. It gives due recognition to the outstanding commitment made by the best site mangers. Mike has demonstrated the highest standards of housebuilding as well as effective management of his team of tradesmen and sub-contractors."

Mike McNamara was initially selected from over 17,000 managers across the county for a regional award. Only 400 of these are presented nation-wide. It was at these regional awards that Mike not only learned he was going through to the next stage, the Supreme Awards, but he had also won the overall regional award for medium sized companies.

"I was totally overwhelmed," said Mike. "To be the Northern region overall winner in our category is such an honour. There are only 21 category winners in the whole country. The judges visit each site and look at things such as quality, technical expertise, safety and the ability to inspire. Whilst the award is made to the Site Manager our local and head office teams have been very important to this success."

Mike now goes on to the UK Supreme awards. The winner will be announced at a prestigious national ceremony held in London in January next year. These winners are the very best site managers in each of the three categories, small, medium and large housebuilders. Peter Ward is overjoyed at the award, "I am pleased for Mike and the company," he said "we pay attention to every detail of our business.
